Printing Industry Projects

Pressroom Project

Coast Machinery Movers completed the construction of the Pressroom Build out Project for the Los Angeles Times located in Times Mirror Square in downtown Los Angeles. The overall scope of the project was to convert the original pressroom, where the newspaper was printed for sixty years, into new multi-floor office areas. The various phases of the project included: the seismic strengthening of the original 1935 building, the installation of a three story superstructure within the confines of the original building, a new electrical substation and power distribution system, a new air conditioning system and the build out of over sixty thousand square feet of new offices. The project was completed on schedule without disruption to the one thousand two hundred Times Mirror employees working in the immediate area.
